Notice Regarding the Completion of Absorption merger with Chuo Denki Kogyo Co., Ltd.

2024/07/01

Nippon Denko Co., Ltd. (the "Company" or "we") hereby announces that today we have completed the absorption merger of Chuo Denki Kogyo Co., Ltd., a consolidated subsidiary. With this merger, we will strengthen our efforts in the Incineration Ash Recycling business, which Chuo Denki Kogyo Co., Ltd. has been developing, and accelerate the growth of our business under the Company. For more details about the merger, please refer to the 「Notice Regarding an Absorption-Type Merger (Simplified Merger/Short-Form Merger) of a Consolidated Subsidiary」 on March 27, 2024.

The Incineration Ash Recycling business involves the melting and solidifying treatment of incineration ash, which is often disposed of in landfills by municipalities, to render it harmless and recyclable. Currently, securing landfill sites has become a social issue, and our business, which reprocesses incineration ash into valuable metals and melt slag (Ecolarock®) that can be reused as construction materials, offers an effective solution.
Moreover, the perfect recycling of incineration ash contributes to environmental conservation by reducing the extraction of natural construction materials, and to lowering environmental impact through the utilization of urban mines.

The company has announced a plan to increase our current incineration ash processing capacity from 130,000 tons per year to 220,000 tons per year as part of our Medium/Long-Term Business Plan by 2030. We will work together as a unified company to realize this plan.
